I also have video footage of pre-time trial practice at Hidden Valley Raceway. This was the first time the car was ever opened up, the clutch blew into a hundred pieces. (drag racers including one called “no toes Tony ,who is a real person, know this well) – picture attached. Car 43Car 43CarCarCarBBCarCCarBSo we had to urgently fly a “you beaut” race clutch up with a transmission explosion blanket to protect my feet in case this new race clutch blew.
On the film I’ll send you, the Dodge comes around the corner on the entrance to the main straight, when I open it up gradually and is it gets full throttle. I get through at least 2 gears before the clutch blows. The car disappears very rapidly towards the other end before the clutch blows. You can hear my father (now deceased) in the video speak as the tyres start spinning. The picture of the clutch laid out on a blue tarp is fairly impressive. I will dig out the file later today and send a bit more.
